The TCY12E rises out of the Ibanez Talman series of guitars, and this is a superb electro acoustic to add to your arsenal. Ibanez crafted the Talman range with electric guitar players in mind. Sometimes it would be great to be able to be able to reproduce a fusion of both electric and acoustic guitar tones without having to change from instrument to another. The Ibanez Talman TCY12E allows you to do just that, and do it well.

TALMAN DOUBLE CUTAWAY BODY

The 2016 TCY12E has a double cutaway body shape which for an electro acoustic guitar is ingenious, as this makes those upper frets much more accessible at both the bass side and the treble side. The body top, back and sides are all constructed entirely from mahogany which brings a whole world of warmth and richness to your acoustic tone.

Securely fitted to the body is a mahogany neck which offers a comfortable playing feel as you work your way along the neck. A 20-fret rosewood fingerboard sits atop of the neck and is adorned with dot inlays to guide you from one fret to the next.

IBANEZ ELECTRONICS

Ibanez have fitted the TCY12E with the AEQ-2T preamp which gives you the power you need to translate your favourite electro acoustic tones through an amplifier. The pickup sits snugly beneath the saddle where it elevates each and every note you pick or strum above the soundhole. The AEQ-2T is an easy-to-use preamp system, featuring bass, treble and volume controls to shape your sound. This preamp also includes a built-in tuner which is both convenient and efficient in ensuring your strings stay tuned accurately.

HARDWARE AND FINISH

The Ibanez TCY12E is fitted with chrome die-cast tuners on either side of the headstock making it effortless to retune your strings.

Innovative Ibanez Advantage Bridge Pins hold the strings firmly in place in the rosewood bridge, and these pins are much simpler to take out and put back in than a standard bridge pin when it's time to change your strings. These have a bulb-shaped end thus making it easier to grip, and once you put the pins back in they will keep each string in place securely.
